Lyn has been passionate about dogs since childhood and she has always had a dog in the family. Her own best friend is an Old English Sheepdog, who is 6 years old. He goes everywhere with her and is well and truly part of the family. You will no doubt get to meet him in the salon as he regularly makes a visit there.
“Having grown up owning Old English Sheepdogs, who require a lot of grooming and maintenance, I have had lots of good and bad experiences in the past trying to find the right dog groomer for me.
The experiences I have had led me down the path to make a career change and they inspired me to make the decision to train to become a professional dog groomer myself and eventually open up my own salon.”
Lyn invested in excellent training at one of Scotland’s top training academy’s’, ‘Scotgroom’ which is situated in Carluke, in North Lanarkshire. She was trained by one of the UK’s leading dog grooming teachers who, as well as being an outstanding dog groomer is also a highly regarded dog show judge and grooming competition official and judge.
Lyn continues to attend training days to brush up on new techniques. She travels around the country to attend seminars to learn about new products and styling and to keep her knowledge up to date with any changes in legislation for the care and welfare for dogs. Also attending crufts each year to keep up to date with new equipment and products available as well as gathering valuable knowledge about breed standards , dog health and wellbeing as well as picking up helpful tips from other groomer’s and colleagues in the field.
She is also trained in Canine First Aid and continues to update this skill on an annual basis, attending further courses to ensure that practice is up to date and current.
“As a dog lover I aim to provide an all round, excellent canine experience for your beloved friend. I can point you in the direction of other local dog related services in the area I have used, such as dog walker’s, dog home boarders/sitters and dog behaviourists and training classes in the area.
